Chapped lip saviours and my lipcare routine

Hi, all. I guess most people in this planet suffer from Chapped lips. And those who don’t have Chapped lips, I see you as a aliens, you can’t be human!!
Again, get  ready for a short blog post. Because I myself can’t get  to read long posts where they talk about everything happening in their life and the world. OK, enough talking. Let’s get into business. I’m not going to give you a long list of remedies and products. You will find here what all I tried, what worked and what didn’t. Very minimalistic.

What worked : This is a step by step routine.

  • Step 1 –  Use a lipbalm every single night. Clichéd I know. But there is a twist to it. I use 2-3 coats of lipbalm. Currently use Nivea essential care lipbalm. You can buy it here
  • Step 2 – Scrub daily morning .  No lip scrub recipes or products. Just get a microfiber towel gently wipe of the lipbalm in the morning.
  • Step 3 – use a hydrating lipproduct. I use a tinted lipbalm – lakme lip love apricot. U can buy it here. No mattes here.

Now the usual. Drink loads of water. Eat vegetables and fruits.

       Now, what didn’t work:

      • Using sugar Lipscrub
      • Using oils/ghee on lip.
      • Scrubbing using  tooth brush. This just made it worse.

These things just didn’t work for me. And above said routine is what works currently. This routine has reduced  lip pigmentation and fine lines to great extent.

Do you have a remedy  or routine for dry Chapped lips? Leave yours in comments  below. Waiting  for your responses.

      Getting pierced

Hi all. Finally, I got my nose pierced yesterday. Was I sacred to get pierced??? Hell no. Getting pierced was there in my wishlist like 5 years. And yesterday I decided in a jiffy that I’m getting a nose piercing done that day itself.
Currently I’m having a nose stud on right side of my nose. The stud is quite big, which makes it obvious. I get post piercing depression at times.  You know like post haircut depression, post haircolor depression. But I declare myself awesome, and wear it with a glee(remember  my new year resolution, if you haven’t read it. Read it here

As I said above, currently I’m having a nose stud. But what I wish for is a nose ring  or u-bent nose pin. I was lusting it on Sania Mirza, preeti zinta in veer Zaara &  currently anushka Sharma in ae dil Hai mushkil. I’m asked to wear this stud for atleast two weeks before I change to anything else, another stud or ring. Attaching some pictures  of my inspiration.

      Weekend fun

      1. One skincare product you are loving lately

Clean & clear moisturiser. I have been using it for about a month now. Totally loving it. It has cleared most of my acne. It contains salicylic acid, which is an active ingredient in reducing acne. Review coming soon.

      2. What are you currently  reading?

The monk who sold his ferrari by Robin Sharma. It was always there in my to-read-wishlist. Soo excited  to finally  have it.

      3. Which do you prefer real books or ebooks?

I prefer real books. Nothing  can compensate the feeling of reading  a real book.

      4. What’s your plan for today?

      Watch a movie.Read a book. Hangout.

      5. How good are you at your new year resolutions?

Great. I fell sick. Still I’m doing good at my new year resolutions

      P. S. Please leave your replies for following questions below. Looking  forward  to your responses. Hope you all are having a great day.

5 products I will always repurchase

This post contains  a list of skincare,  haircare products that works for my combination  sensitive  skin and dry-fine-frizz prone hair. Let’s get straight into the products.

      1. Lotus 3-in-1 matte sunscreen

I hated wearing sunscreens even when I knew I should  be wearing one. Why? Because  it makes me sweat like a pig. And then I came to know about this. It is tinted, matte and gets absorbed easily. I have gone through many tubes of it & recommend to everyone. It can be quite drying for some, but wearing a moisturizer solves the problem.

      2. Lactocalamine

This is a multipurpose product. If I have whiteheads  or breakouts, if my skin is not behaving properly, I lay my hands on this. This is tinted, contains zinc  oxide, which is an active ingredient  in physical sunscreen.

      3. Olive oil

I’m currently using figure olive oil. I use this on skin & hair. Result, soft hair and baby soft skin. This is a multipurpose product. It can be used as makeup remover, after bath oil, for shaving etc.

      4. Clean & clear moisturizer

If you have oily acne prone skin, I recommend this. This is an oil free moisturizer, light weight & absorbs quickly. This contains salicylic acid, which exfoliates skin, unclogs pores and treat acne. Silicones in it gives skin a smooth feel.

      5. Dhatri shampoo

I’m person who shampoo almost everyday, so I prefer mild shampoo. I do tend to change brands but keep coming back to this. This is mild enough  to use everyday. It’s easy on pocket. Makes hair soft and shiny. Sometimes hair ends tends to become frizzy. Nothing a conditioner can’t  solve.

      New year resolutions 2017

I know I’m late for this post. This post was supposed  to be up two weeks ago. Then I got sick. But i didn’t backout from my resolution. So I guess it’s ok.

Well, I’m not  the kind of person  who makes  resolutions every year. I will keep this post short. I don’t  want to bug you people  with resolutions I’m making. I was irritated by reading  and hearing about everyone’s. I was like, why can’t people keep all of these to themselves. But now, I think that’s a good idea. People are going to enquire, sometimes even tease about it. Don’t  get offended. Be positive. Take it as a reminder for you.

Coming back to my resolutions, I’m keeping it simple.

      1.Read a book a week.

So far I’m doing  good. Some weeks I manage to read two books. I started with fiction. I want to read from other genres as well. Currently I’m reading  ‘the monk who sold his ferrari’. What are you reading currently? Any recommendations for books to read?

      2.Eat clean and workout.

I lost some 20kilos 5years back. I was overweight then. I became  soo obsessed  with  dieting I became underweight. Clearly, I didn’t knew when  to stop dieting, as in, controlling  food to lose weight.  And trust me, the hardest part is to maintain  normal weight. Not gain or lose weight. Now I’m in normal  weight range. I just have to eat healthy and  get back on doing workout. Are you following any particular diet? What workouts are you doing? What are your health goals for this year?

      3.Be organized.

I’m in love  with Bullet journal. I don’t  do any fancy designs, color coding and all. I’m into minimalistic bullet journal. And the  whole idea is to save your time, keep you organized and let you have a calmer life. What i’m struggling with  is dealing in the kitchen and housekeeping. Even though I’m just learning  cooking, don’t cook often,  I find myself spending most of the day in kitchen cooking…. You know if I’m supposed to do the days cooking. And cleaning, keeping everything organized, I don’t have a schedule. What’s your housekeeping schedule like? How do you manage a day’s cooking? Do you cook the day before?.

      And finally…

4.Keep calm and live your life.

Stay away from  all  negativity. Spread a smile. Live the life you want.

Hope you enjoyed reading my post. What are your new year resolutions? Let me know in the comments below. Don’t forget  to answer all the questions.
