Lakme lip crayon 09 cinnamon brown review

Hi all,

Lakme have recently launched 10 lip crayon which are affordably priced at  Rs.185 (2.2g).When every other brand are launching lip products at high priced,this came as a surprise.

 

This shade I’m reviewing cinnamon brown is the nude shade from this range.Its a brown lip color with peach tone.This is a mlbb shade for medium complexions.It may washout deeper complexions.And for fairer complexions it will look too brown.This is my favorite every day lip color currently.

The packaging is fun,just like a crayon and lakme have named it right – cinnamon brown lip crayon.They provide a sharpener with each lipcrayon.The texture is creamy matte,very comfortable to wear.It doesn’t accentuate lipliner.To get complete opacity we will have to search few times.

It fades out mostly after 3 hour.No feathering,but bleeds little.Its not transferproof.Its not retractable and needs to be sharpened,so there is product wastage.

At Rs.185,i’m impressed with formula and shade.

Only 3 things needed for permanent weightloss


Hi, all. This is going to be a bit long post. I’m no expert in fitness and nutrition field. This post is about my experience, my thoughts and ramblings on weight-loss. 

              I was overweight, lost some 12kilos 6years back and have not gained weight after that. This post won’t give any miracle solution to lose weight. These are things which worked for me. 

            When Kareena Kapoor’s Tashaan released, I was wondering how the once chubby actress could look slim and fit like a stick.And how I could simply put on soo much weight. When the actress came forward revealing her diet and releasing a book on that, I felt like ‘lier, she’s living, she must have done something else’. I was just not ready to believe her diet principles. I was soo desperate, I read every article, magazine that came my way about weight-loss. 

Tip 1: read, read and read. You could always consult a dietician or seek someones help. But, reading and educating yourself about what you are going to subject your body will help you in ways – say, know about different types of diets(there’s different kinds, some of which I just have heard the name), choose diet you want to follow, know it’s pros-cons. And in some cases, just no diet at all. May be a workout routine and some lifestyle changes. 

Tip 2: Know yourself. Know your likes and dislike on food, flavors, cravings, your peak time of hunger during a day, how often you can eat and all. 

            I will cite my experience as example. I tried calorie counting, 2hour diet and paleo.I started with calorie counting. I actually wanted to follow Kareenas principle,  then I had food fear. Calorie counting made me feel like I’m ‘dieting’. Back then I related ‘dieting’  to eating less. Along with some stretching exercise, it gave great result. But then I didn’t knew when to stop. I continued it until one day I fainted. Clearly, I was enjoying food, I was eating just for the sake of it. I was fed up of calorie counting and wanted to enjoy food. I decided to read some books of dieticians which I saw rave reviews – about the dietician and that particular kind of diet. I read it. Frankly speaking I did not feel like following it, cause  it instructs to eat every 2 hour and it will be a lot of food I will be eating. But I thoroughly enjoyed reading it mainly because it took away many misconceptions I had and removed my food fear. I tried it for few days and it did have an effect on my energy levels. But then it was hard for me to follow  in my work environment. 

               Then came paleo.I diet. I read the experience of an Indian blogger and was tempted to try it. What  tempted me? Paleo meant eliminating just carbs, eat meat, fat, vegetables, and nuts as much as I want and no calorie counting. I tried it for  about  a month. By this time I didn’t care about weight scale, may be the effect of those diet books I read. But I Clearly did not enjoy  Paleo. Because it was too much meat to eat and being a South Indian, it was hard for me to eliminate carbs. 


Tip 3: maintain a food diary. This is all I do these days. Let’s say I have formulated diet exclusively for myself 😁. Jokes apart. Having done few diets, I have an idea of what works for me. I lost some bad food habit, gained some good habits. Maintaining food diary is one habit which stayed. I use fitness pal. I just make sure I have completed a day’s calorie needs and don’t make a fuss if you exceed your calorie limit. I also keep track of where my diet is going wrong and rectify it soon. 

P. S.  I’m in no way promoting ‘thin is cool’  mindset. Diet means a long term healthy food habit. If you are happy with the way you are, don’t change  yourself to prove other people a point. Are you going to loss weight  for yourself?? Give it a thought.

Face acne and remedies 


Hi, all. Is anyone wondering why I specifically said ‘face acne’. Because there is a thing called ‘body acne’. For now lets talk about face acne. 

      First and foremost, never ever touch or pick a pimple. Pimple will be gone in few days, but not the scar caused if a pimple is picked. So beware. 

      I had pimples for few months and was using clean clear moisturiser, clean and clear face wash which was working fine on acne . I did not use any other product apart from the targeted moisturiser, simply because I didn’t believe using a lot of products. I knew I had to find out the cause of it, do the ‘prevention’  not ‘cure’. I also had severe  dandruff, which was all a reason for pimples. 

            When you want simple no fuss remedies for any kind of skin problem,  check  my blog. That was a shameless self promotion. Jokes apart. 

          For any kind of skin problem, I believe you should approach a lifestyle  change, ie, eat clean and good, workout, drink loads of water and get enough sleep. Apart from this, basic skincare and haircare will do the trick. 


LIFESTYLE: I made major diet change. No meat, spicy, fried or processed food, ie, eat clean . Include more Fibre, fruits and vegetables(include more cooling foods) . Drink atleast 2 litre water. Have dinner early. Sleep early  and wake up early.There was obvious result in the first week itself. 

SKINCARE : I included oil massage for about 5minutes, then followed with face wash or facescrub on alternate days. And used a moisturiser. I did try this routine without diet, but not much result was there. 
HAIRCARE: you must be wondering what haircare has to do anything with acne. Dandruff  could also be a root cause of acne. For dandruff, I used an hair oil recommended  by an ayurvedic doctor  which worked  wonders in the first  use itself. 

And last, but the most  important – clean your phone screen.

Lakme lip love lipcare apricot

This is my favorite tinted lip balm  currently. This is peachy coral shade. 

Price : Rs. 180

I absolutely  love tinted lip balms, for they provide enough color, protection to lips. And unlike lipstick, you can really be care free about precise application. 

       I tried two shades – apricot and caramel at the Lakme counter. Caramel is more peachy. The color coded packaging makes it easier to identify product among the myriad of other products. The packaging is in exact color  of the lip balm. 

                This is very hydrating lip balm. Smoothes lip lines. This reminds me of elle18 lipstick, which have a similar bullet with moisturizing core in the center surrounded with color. But this is definitely more hydrating than those.This doesn’t feel waxy, is light on the lips. Stay on lips for 2-3hours.Doesnt stain lip. This have fruity smell. 

         Pigmentation  wise, this is not highly pigmented .It gives only sheer coverage. If you want more coverage, you can always use a lip brush, pick just color and apply on lips(that’s what the SA did on me) . This doesn’t effect their hydrating property. But don’t expect a dramatic coverage. 

      Overall, this is very hydrating tinted lip balm with sheer coverage.i would recommend  this for everyone (except if you want more coverage and more staying power, but I wouldn’t mind that.)

New year resolutions 2017

I know I’m late for this post. This post was supposed  to be up two weeks ago. Then I got sick. But i didn’t backout from my resolution. So I guess it’s ok.

Well, I’m not  the kind of person  who makes  resolutions every year. I will keep this post short. I don’t  want to bug you people  with resolutions I’m making. I was irritated by reading  and hearing about everyone’s. I was like, why can’t people keep all of these to themselves. But now, I think that’s a good idea. People are going to enquire, sometimes even tease about it. Don’t  get offended. Be positive. Take it as a reminder for you.

Coming back to my resolutions, I’m keeping it simple.

1.Read a book a week.

So far I’m doing  good. Some weeks I manage to read two books. I started with fiction. I want to read from other genres as well. Currently I’m reading  ‘the monk who sold his ferrari’. What are you reading currently? Any recommendations for books to read?

2.Eat clean and workout.

I lost some 20kilos 5years back. I was overweight then. I became  soo obsessed  with  dieting I became underweight. Clearly, I didn’t knew when  to stop dieting, as in, controlling  food to lose weight.  And trust me, the hardest part is to maintain  normal weight. Not gain or lose weight. Now I’m in normal  weight range. I just have to eat healthy and  get back on doing workout. Are you following any particular diet? What workouts are you doing? What are your health goals for this year?

3.Be organized.

I’m in love  with Bullet journal. I don’t  do any fancy designs, color coding and all. I’m into minimalistic bullet journal. And the  whole idea is to save your time, keep you organized and let you have a calmer life. What i’m struggling with  is dealing in the kitchen and housekeeping. Even though I’m just learning  cooking, don’t cook often,  I find myself spending most of the day in kitchen cooking…. You know if I’m supposed to do the days cooking. And cleaning, keeping everything organized, I don’t have a schedule. What’s your housekeeping schedule like? How do you manage a day’s cooking? Do you cook the day before?.

And finally…

4.Keep calm and live your life.

Stay away from  all  negativity. Spread a smile. Live the life you want.
